Hanover Park Sophomore Author
Book Signing
“A true family can travel up and down a road and back, but they never get
lost because they have each other.” So writes Hanover Park sophomore Maria
Catherina Capozzoli in her first book, My Life as a Teenage Golden
Girl’s Fan.
Published
by Dorrance Publishing Company, the book chronicles the episodes of the
1985-1992 television show, The Golden Girls, as well as the hidden meanings and
lessons taught by the characters. The author also discusses the show’s impact
across generations and its influence on her life.
Capozzoli, an East Hanover resident, was most inspired after reading an
autobiography by the late Rue McClanahan, who played the part of “Blanche.” “I
wanted to act, but didn’t know where to start,” Capozzoli explains, “so I just
wrote a book.” She sought to make Capozzoli a household name. And she’s getting
there; her two-year project is now among the top five bestsellers for Dorrance
Publishing.
According to the book’s Amazon.com review, readers find Capozzoli’s
“enthusiasm for life and the celebration of friendship contagious.” The book is
available for purchase on
Amazon.com and through
Dorrance’s online bookstore.
The East Hanover
Public Library will host a book signing on October 2 from 2 to 4 pm. Limited
books will be available. Members of the community will also see Capozzoli
featured at the Morris County Italian American Columbus Day Parade along
Ridgedale Avenue in East Hanover on October 9. More information can be found on
Capozzoli’s
website.
Congratulations, Maria!
